Rethinking the

veterinary experience

for pets, owners, and veterinary teams.

A new approach to veterinary care is coming to South Africa.

One that prioritises emotional wellbeing, reduces fear,

and builds trust at every step.

Launching Soon.

What is Calm Care?

Calm Care is an upcoming training and certification programme designed to support veterinary professionals in preventing and reducing Fear, Anxiety, and Stress (FAS) in pets.

Grounded in behavioural science and veterinary best practice, the programme provides practical, evidence-based strategies that can be implemented in real clinical settings — from the waiting room to the consult table and beyond.

This is not just about handling. It’s about understanding.

Why It Matters

Because how animals feel matters.

Research shows that many pets experience significant stress during veterinary visits. This not only impacts their welfare, but can also affect clinical outcomes, safety, and the overall experience for both pet parents and veterinary teams.

By addressing emotional wellbeing, we can:

Improve patient

welfare and recovery

Increase client trust

and compliance

Enhance safety

for staff and animals

Create a more positive

working environment

BUILT FOR TEAMS. RECOGNISED BY CLIENTS.

Raising the standard of veterinary care.

Calm Care is designed to support every level of the veterinary team — from front-of-house staff to clinical professionals and leadership teams.

Practices will have the opportunity to work toward Calm Care Certification, demonstrating a commitment to reducing Fear, Anxiety and Stress in veterinary settings.

Certified practices will receive official Calm Care branding and certification assets to display in their clinics, communications and online presence, along with client-facing tools and resources to help promote Fear, Anxiety and Stress (FAS) awareness and support low-stress veterinary visits.

Because compassionate care is something clients notice.
